Kötlujökull outlet glacier facing its latteral unstable slopes. As the glacial ice retreats from its respective area, the latteral slopes loose a certain support from the glacier resulting in deformation or increased mass movement activity. This is called a paraglacial activity and one such mass movement event can be spotted on this photo as a black hole in the slopes center.
